Abandoned by her mother as a child and then by her father in her twenties, Bob Trevino works long hours at a construction company alone to support his scrapbooking wife, Jeanie. The couple has suffered greatly over the past decade, and Bob has struggled to put his wife first, to the point of neglecting his own feelings and need for friendship, meaning, and connection—until he receives an unexpected message on Facebook from the stranger. Lily and Bob’s blossoming friendship becomes a vital source of connection and healing in their lives. A small act of fatherly kindness from Bob fills a family void in Lily’s life and has the power to change her life forever.
