Chronology

Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, is thrust into a high-profile job she’s not suited for in the midst of an international crisis, with tectonic consequences for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced the American and British governments to allow the series to use real-world locations, including the still-recently operating American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

The only available location was Winfield House, the actual residence of the American ambassador

Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest living space in London (11 acres) outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming. ).

Absolutely top-notch production and acting

The script is smart and interesting, engaging and well-paced. The character development is quite robust, and the players are not simple caricatures.

Professional situations that suddenly turn into "I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy" seemingly out of nowhere

Time and again a character seems one-dimensional at first, but then the story develops and they are actually much more complex than first blush. My only complaint is that some of the grafted “romance”; the storylines are so ashy and out of place that they fall apart and are jarring.

Someone decided to come up with a little soap opera, and it doesn’t improve the outcome
