Coleman Domingo is becoming my favorite actor. He really can make reading the phone book a compelling story. And it’s almost as compelling as The Madness right now. The dialogue is almost embarrassingly bad. It tries so hard to be sharp and witty, but it comes off as very predictable and cliché. From the beginning, there are so many things in this story that just defy the most basic common sense. I constantly find myself asking “why, why, why?!” So much so that after episode 2 I skipped episode 7 just to see what would happen at the end. I have no doubt that the episodes I skipped are little more than a lot of overcomplicated narration and unnecessary dialogue.
