After the events of “Batman” (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, plays a game to seize the reins of the Gotham underworld. Colin Farrell fought hard for his version of the Penguin in “Batman” (2022), but failed. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as a regular smoker who prefers cigars.

I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood how to cast a skinny, handsome actor, give him massive prosthetics and a thick suit…especially when I think he looks like some other famous actors. I also didn’t really understand what this spin-off was for, and to be honest, I’m tired of Batman reboots. But after the first episode, I can confirm that this show is amazing (for now).

But I didn’t expect to like it so much

I watched it, only knowing that it is a bridge between the first and second films, which are worth watching, and my amazing pleasure from Farrell’s role in the first. The acting is amazing, the script is amazing, and I was surprised by some of the quick turns. What I liked most was that there was much more color here than in Batman.

I noticed it almost immediately, because for me it was a huge complaint about the film (it felt like I was looking at it through the lens of Zack Snyder). I hope everything will be as good as it is now, because I really can’t wait for the next episode. Season 5, Episode 2, “The Octopus Game”; The second season and other highly anticipated new and returning series that will appear on television and streaming.
