I live in Darby, Montana, where most of this is filmed – just yesterday they were filming right across the street in a field with some horses and cattle. I believe the series is a pretty solid story, and in a niche where Costner gives his all. One thing I noticed in the first season, given my half-Indian side, is that it makes you wonder who the good guys and the bad guys are – maybe both sides are good and bad. I will admit it’s great to watch them take pictures while here, the ranch is right down the road from me and I pass by almost every day on the way to fish in the Bitterroot River.
